Promoting a Positive School Climate Among 3rd and 4th Grade Primary Students – Fortunata Gutiérrez De Bernedo Educational Institution (2023)
The Socio-Educational Project “Promoting a Positive School Climate” was an initiative driven by the Crea Mujer Association - ACERTAR, developed at the Educational Institution 41014 Fortunata Gutiérrez De Bernedo during 2023.
The project emerged after identifying a widespread concern about school violence within the institution. Over four months of intervention, the goal was to foster the social and personal development of students, promoting a positive and safe school environment.
The direct beneficiaries were 73 primary school students (32 from 3rd grade and 41 from 4th grade), who actively participated in educational activities focused on strengthening soft skills, empathy, and peaceful conflict resolution.
Objectives
General Objective
Improve the level of school climate among 3rd and 4th grade primary students at the “Fortunata Gutiérrez De Bernedo” Educational Institution.
Main Objective
Achieve a positive school climate among 3rd and 4th grade primary students by strengthening coexistence, respect, and empathy.
Specific Objectives
- Prevent school violence among 3rd and 4th grade primary students.
- Strengthen soft skills and socio-emotional competencies in students.
- Raise awareness among families about parenting styles and their impact on the school climate.
Results
- 85% of students were able to identify school violence as a problem, demonstrating greater awareness and capacity for reflection.
- A significant improvement in soft skills was recorded in approximately 80% of participants, reflected in communication, empathy, and teamwork.
- Students showed high participation and engagement during sessions, evidencing a positive impact on their emotional and social development.
- The activities helped strengthen school coexistence and reduce aggressive behavior, promoting healthier relationships among peers.
